Boys Basketball Season Recap
The Southeast of Saline boys basketball team finished their season 15-11. The Trojans came off a third place finish at State the season before. Returning only one varsity starter, the Trojans had a lot of positions to fill. The first half of the season was back and forth between wins and losses. The boys had a few back to back wins to gain some momentum going into the Sterling Tournament. The Trojans fought hard against the one seed, but ended up losing which sent them to the third place game where they played Scott City, the number two seed in the tournament, and they won in a very close battle. The schedule was tough throughout the entire season. A huge win vs Hesston in the second round of Sub-State changed the energy of the season. The boys went on to beat Santa Fe Trail to be the Sub-State champions. At the State tournament in Hutchinson, the Trojans won their first round game vs the two seed, Cheney. They went on to the second round where they played the three seed, Goodland. The boys fell short and headed to the third and fourth place game vs Beloit. The boys battled it out, but lost to Beloit. The boys ended in fourth place with a record of 15-11. This was a very impressive season for a team who lacked experience and battled their way throughout the entire season to end where they did.
