Thrift shopping, more commonly known as thrifting, is said to increase to $77 billion by the year 2025. Thrifting is an easy way to save money on clothing, shoes, and jewelry. There are more than 25,000 thrift stores in the United States!

The 2024 fashion trends have been all over the place. Much more thrifting has happened because people have been bringing back old clothing styles, and thrift stores carry a huge amount of older clothing for very cheap prices. These clothes are returning from 2000-2010. Some of the most popular throwback clothes people are wearing are low-rise jeans, cargo pants, platform shoes, trucker hats, and baggy jeans. 

With these fashion trends coming back into style through the next generation, a sense of nostalgia is awakened in the previous generations. Seeing people every day out on the street wearing these throwback clothes makes the older generation happy. For older generations, seeing the clothes they used to wear and love is like taking a look into the past. 

Many people are drawn to the “vintage” style of these throwback clothes because of the memories and the simpler times. It may also remind them of their parents and/or older siblings in a sentimental way.
