Do students feel safe keeping their cars unlocked? I sent out an anonymous poll asking if students kept their cars locked or unlocked, I also asked why. Most students said they did lock their car, other students said that they lock their cars out of habit. Students who lock their cars said they lock them just for safety and that none of their belongings get stolen.

A small percentage of students don’t lock their cars, they said most of the time they forget. Other reasons they stated were that they trust students and the community here at Southeast. The students who don’t lock their cars have said that it doesn’t bother them in any way. That could be very controversial depending on your opinion.

The high school student body should be able to not have to worry about anything getting stolen or anyone breaking into their cars. Here at Southeast we have a great trust system. Students acknowledge what’s right and what’s wrong. They should be able to go day to day without worry. Our school has a great security system which makes us feel safe and provided for!
