Lead Roles
Ava Rupert: Morticia Addams- Ava’s favorite scene was “Full Disclosure”. She loved all the dialogue, tension, and layers that scene had. Her part especially goes through a lot of emotions throughout that scene and it was fun to work with the other characters and react to everyone’s parts she says. Her favorite musical number was “When You’re an Addams”. She loved how much excitement this number had and all the energy in it. The most difficult part was the “El Tango De Amor”, it took lots of practice and tons of hard work. When she got the part she was completely shocked. She thought she was getting a lower role or nothing at all. So she was very excited to hear she got Morticia.
Abigail Pearson: Grandma- Abigail’s favorite part of the show was all the big numbers where everyone is in it like “Full Discloser”. The hardest part for her was her keeping the voice of the grandma. Her favorite songs were “Crazier than You” or any of Gomez’s songs. Took an hour to an hour and a half to get ready, because she wore a lot of different layers of clothes for her costume.
Xander Bishop: Uncle Fester- His overall favorite part of being in the musical was being backstage during tech rehearsals because a lot of his friends and he would hang out and have fun together. His favorite songs in the musical were “Death is Just Around the Corner” and “Pulled”
Kade Riffel- He thought the stairs were the hardest part to build due to all the cutting that was needed. The crossbow was his favorite prop. His job was to mute and unmute mics and make sure to balance out the levels to make sure they didn’t screech. His proudest build was the whole thing. He says that there are 5 different parts to it with many different plate forms.
Director
Mrs.Boley- Mrs. Boley has produced 16 musicals at Southeast. This is one of her top 5 favorite musicals she has done because it was new to her. One of the challenges they faced was not having an accompanist, but she was so thankful for the students being willing to rise to the challenge. She wanted to do the Addams family because of Isaiah Sanchez. He is a senior and wanted something that was best for him. So Lurch is perfect for him because he does not show a lot of expression and is tall. She picks the shows based on the seniors of that year and who deserves that opportunity. Her favorite musical number was “Full Discloser” because it had everyone in it and there were solos in it. As well as “One normal night” with everyone also in it. She was able to watch this musical ahead of time, but they did have to change a couple of parts to make it more comfortable for the elementary students to watch. She also states that they were their biggest audience.
