Tom Holland and Zendaya have been well-known in the acting world for over a decade, and are widely regarded as A-list actors. Tom is known for his roles in blockbuster films like the 2017-2021 Spiderman trilogy, and many other big Avengers movies. His debut movie was the 2012 film The Impossible. Zendaya is known for her young career on Disney and more recent movies like Dune, Challengers, and the 2017-2021 Spiderman trilogy. Zendaya has many guest appearances on Disney Channel, and then landed the role of Rocky Blue in the original Disney show Shake It Off. Tom and Zendaya starred in the 2016 movie, Spiderman Homecoming and continued until the end of the trilogy. Many people loved the fictional characters’ chemistry, and many suspected there might be something going on between them due to their acting all past Spiderman actors dating their castmates. Although in Spiderman: No Way Home their characters don’t get their happy ending. Months before the movie was released there were photos released of the couple acting like their relationship was more than friendly. In November 2021 Tom Holland confirmed that Zendaya and him were officially dating.
The couple has been well-known and watched thoroughly by the entire world due to their popularity. This being said with how popular both stars are they manage to keep their relationship very private and to themselves. Tom and Zendaya are rarely seen together on the red carpet unless they starred in the same movie. On January 5th, 2025, Zendaya showed up at the Golden Globes wearing a new ring that was not on brand for her. The ring is a Jessica McCormack east-west elongated cushion cut diamond. The new jewelry was instantly spotted, this is very different for Zendaya because it is widely known that she is a brand ambassador for the Italian Fashion House, Bulgari. Speculation started online after seeing the ring and other celebrities’ reactions while at the Golden Globes. Neither Tom nor Zendaya have confirmed that they are engaged but Tom Holland’s dad Dominic Holland, in his blog, talked about the planning Tom Holland went through, including asking Zendaya’s father.
The couple takes their privacy very seriously and has said many things along that same line. Tom, in an interview with Men’s Health, said, “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and Dad. I will just disappear off the face of the earth.” (Larson et al.) Zendaya agrees with these sentiments and both are excited to start a family relatively young. This belief calls a question of whether it is appropriate to raise children in the spotlight and start to be a parent while still in the public eye. Many celebrities have done the same thing when they had children like Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, and David Beckham. Also in a recent interview, Ryan Reynolds spoke about wanting to take a break from acting to spend more time with his kids. Other stars have raised kids in the spotlight and they have grown up in the public eye like Beyonce and Jay Z, Angelina Jolie, and Kate Hudson. Beyonce and Jay Z’s oldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter is 13 years old and just recently starred in the new Mufasa movie and has grown up fully as a known figure since birth. Many people have spoken their opinions against Beyonce and Jay Z’s decision because she is very mature for her age and they should just let her be a kid, while others believe it is a good way to expose kids and give them real-world experiences. Whatever way celebrities decide to raise their children it is important to protect them and make sure they are taught how to handle the pressure of being in the public eye. Tom Holland and Zendaya seem to know what their values are and will be great parents when they decide to start a family and slow down their acting careers.
