Starting in the 23’-24’ school year, JH and High School students got a new schedule. A lot of teachers had voices for both sides. They discussed and fought for the side they wanted during this whole summer and the last part of the second semester. We interviewed students from different grade levels to get their perspectives on this new schedule. A lot of them had the same answers on how they felt about the change.
Lexi Jacobson and Allison Moddelmog each had good points about how math class is harder with shorter times. Lexi talked about how it is harder for teachers to get through math lessons, so homework is harder to do. She also mentioned that even though the schedule may not be as convenient as before, she is trying to have a positive outlook on it rather than being negative about it. Allison Moddelmog expressed that the teachers were supposed to be cutting back on homework due to the shortened classes, but that hasn’t been the case so far. This predicament has caused so much stress on the students because now we have each class four times a week.
To conclude, this new schedule has really been affecting students with their school life. Affecting both homework and projects, the new schedule has caused students to stress out about school.
