Beginning this month, Mr. Owen has come up with a fun new way to recognize all of the hard-working students and teachers at Southeast of Saline. This will be through a spotlight of the month, featuring three students and one teacher.
Each month, four individuals will be selected for this new spotlight. The four winners will consist of one high school student, one junior high student, one student-athlete, and one teacher. The students and teachers nominated for the spotlight will be chosen because of their hard work and positivity that they show inside and outside of the school. The selection process will work by sending out a google form to the secondary students and staff consisting of five people in each of the four categories. From there, every student and teacher will select one winner for each of these categories. The four winners will then have their pictures taken and hung up in the empty picture frames on the east side of the commons. Not only will the selected students and teacher be recognized in the school, but they will also be featured in the monthly edition of The Spotlight which is the Gypsum and Assaria newspaper.
Overall, Mr. Owen believes that this new monthly spotlight is a positive way to show off all of the amazing students and teachers at Southeast. He stated, “This is just a great way for both the students and the teachers to be recognized for all of their hard work and the positive things they are doing.”
The four winners of September are Ben Grauerholz for student-athlete, Lexi Jacobson for high school student, Tysen Keller for junior high student, and Mr. Zouzas for the teacher. Congratulations to the four winners of September and for being the first winners of the year.
