This year in FFA, there are a lot of activities being planned. One activity that FFA does every month is their monthly meetings. This involves the FFA chapter officers. These officers instruct the meetings. They talk about everything that is happening in that month, and they keep everyone up to date on the most recent events. A yearly event that FFA does is FFA week. It is in February and it also includes the Labor Auction. The Labor Auction is when kids from the school sign up to do work for local people around the school. There is an announcer that tells the “buyers” what the kids can do and the people will bid for them, like a real auction. Mrs. Petty and her chapter officers do scavenger hunts for everyone involved with FFA. They also do a lot of dress up days like wearing an FFA shirt. “Egg My Yard” is another fun activity Mrs. Petty puts together each year for the kids around Gypsum, Assaria, and a little bit of Salina. Students that sign up to help have to get up early in the morning, and put candy eggs in kids’ yards for them to find in the morning of Easter day. There are many other things that the FFA group puts together throughout the year, these are just a few of the activities and events.
