alina and surrounding areas do a lot of fun things on Halloween. There’s a lot of activities for kids like trunk or treating or going around the mall and getting treats from some of the stores in the mall. There are also a lot of haunted houses. Maize, Wichita has one, Junction City has one, Salina has one, and Salemsburg has one as well. 

The event in Salemsborg is called The Haunted Forest. It is a haunted house in Salemsborg. I have gone there a couple of times, and it’s really good. I think everyone should go once unless you’re claustrophobic then you probably shouldn’t. The actors are amazing and definitely scare you. They come out when you least expect it.

The Halloween event in Maize, Wichita is called “Field of Screams”. They have a TikTok page, and it looks really fun. There’s escape rooms you have to get through and fields you have to walk through and there’s actors all around waiting to jump out and scare you.

The one in Junction City is called Zombie Toxin. I can’t really say much about this one because I’ve never been and there’s not really anything on their website.

I think the actors they have to hire are really good at their jobs. They almost never break character and I feel like it would be hard to not laugh at these people who are getting terrified. I don’t think I would be able to be an actor for a haunted house because I would get scared by the other actors or the people walking through the haunted house would scare me.

Some things that would be more children friendly would be the Sunny Side Pumpkin Patch. They have fun little activities you can do while you are there and hot chocolate and a snack bar as well! Kansas Wesleyan does a trunk or treat and some of the stores in the mall hand out candy as well. There are some churches that also do trunk or treating. The Pumpkin Palooza is on October 14th at the Rolling Hills zoo and it is just a bunch of fun Halloween activities for kids.
