Dancing with the Stars is a show in which 12 celebrities are paired with professional ballroom dancers. They then compete against each other to win a trophy called the Mirror Ball at the end of the season. Throughout this process, they are getting judged by three celebrity judges with extensive dance experience and can get a score up to 10. But that is not the only thing that gets them to the next week. Fans also have to call or text in to vote for the pair that’s their favorite. Those two factors advance them on to another week until there’s a winner.

To start off the new season, many old professionals were invited back to pay a special dance tribute to Len Goodman, a 17-season judge who passed away from bone cancer. His favorite dance was ballroom. It was one of the most memorable nights on the dance floor. This was a way to show how appreciative they were to have him on the show, and all he had accomplished. 

People love this show so much that they have created their own versions of the show in their hometowns. The Salina Theater puts on a show called Dancing with the Salina Stars. Different college teams in close proximity compete against each other with different pairs and teams. It is held at the Salina Theater, and people in town can come and watch and vote. 

Each year on the TV show,  there is a group that the crowd and fans fall in love with. This year, it is Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold. They get a majority of the fan votes. Each week when they dance, they take over TikTok and the internet for the next week until their next dance. 

The first dance they ever did turned into a dance trend on TikTok. Everyone would post the video to show their support. This Gave Harry and Rylee a way to reach out to their fans.

This can lead to controversy, though. Even if the pair is the worst of the group in terms of dancing skill, they can get votes and stay solely based on their popularity. This has been said about Rylee and Harry because his dancing skills have not been the best of the season. His numbers from the judges show this throughout the weeks as his abilities dramatically fluctuate n based on his dances. Fans say that judges should determine who stays or goes, not the fans. 

Each week there is a new genre of dance. Some of them include: Foxtrot, Waltz, Motown, Tango, Swing, Quickstep, and group dances. Each week they also have themes like Disney night, Taylor Swift night, Music Video night, Whitney Houston night, and many more. Each season is around 11 weeks, and each week, teams are eliminated until they pick the winner.

Dancing with the Stars is in its 32nd season, and it’s more popular than ever. Now that the celebrities are well known, they bring in millions of viewers. This season has taken some time to adjust back to normal after losing a judge, but they came back even better and stronger.
