This year, six members of the SES FFA got chosen to go to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National FFA Convention. Lane Fritz, Bryna Baird, Schuyler Rose, Kiley Issacson, Anna Karber, and Kiki Riedel were the members who attend this event. The members that got chosen were able to go to a lot of events such as a concert, expo, shopping center, a session, a workshop, rodeo, and LabCorp.
On the first day in Indiana, the members went to the shopping and expo center to start off their day. The expo center had multiple booths with different organizations such as colleges and companies. The shopping had many popular brands and some cute boutiques. After that, they went to an opening session. This session had a great spokesperson and lessons. To finish off the first day, the members went to a Lainey Wilson concert.
The FFA group went to the Expo in the morning of the second day. After they were done with the Expo, they took off and headed to Kentucky. They first stopped at the Louisville Bat Factory to go on a tour. Once they were done with the tour, they headed to Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Derby is held for a movie and a tour of the track. After the group finished touring the track at Churchill Downs, they went to Joe’s Crab Shack for a chapter dinner.
On the third day, the members took a walk downtown to the Yolk to eat breakfast. Once they were done with breakfast, they walked back to the convention center and looked at cool sculptures. After getting back to the convention area, they got on a bus and headed to LabCorp. The members who went on the tour were the first outside groups available to learn about what LabCorp does. Later that night, they headed to the Rodeo Grounds to watch the finalists.
It may have been a long ride there and back, but the chapter members had an amazing time. They got to go on a fun trip while still learning a lot.
