For over 100 years people have been caught up with one big mystery;a mystery where some have “seen” and who tried to solve it. This mystery is known as Bigfoot, a tall hairy man figure that lurks in the woods. Some people think it’s just an ape or a man in a costume, and some truly believe in the mystery of this creature. This creature has been causing questioning in science. Everyone always asks, does bigfoot exist?
In this essay I’m going to be telling you my theories and why I think Bigfoot does not exist. I mean truly, a hairy human-like creature wandering around the whole country? That doesn’t sound too real to me.
Bigfoot, also known by the name of sasquatch, is 4000 years old according to the University of Oxford. Researchers went to museums and got hair samples and private collections from the museum. They studied the items to try to figure out if Bigfoot is real. They took tests and compared the hair of “Bigfoot” to other species. The samples the investigators found came from bears, wolves, racoons, porcupine, deer, sheep, at least one human, and even a cow. “The fact that none of these samples turned out to be [Bigfoot] doesn’t mean the next one won’t,” said Bryan Sykes.
There really isn’t any good evidence of Bigfoot being real. There is no DNA or any good video or picture evidence. It’s impossible for something so human-like to survive for that long. People say he looks half human, but how would they know that? There’s no DNA backing up those thoughts.. There’s no proof that he is part ape and part human. There’s no way something so big could hide in such a populated world. The only “evidence” people have are videos and pictures, but they aren’t good quality, and they could have set that up with a costume to get people to think that it’s real. There are so many TV shows and even groups of people trying to find Bigfoot, but they haven’t got any real evidence of him. So why are people trying to still find him when there is no true evidence of him being real?
On the other hand, there are some people who think Bigfoot is real even with the lack of evidence. Many people said they have seen this creature, but the evidence is fuzzy. There have supposedly been some photographs captured of Bigfoot, but no bones have been found. People say Bigfoot is the offspring of an ape in Asia, and he wandered to North America during the Ice Age. Some also say that there are 2000 ape men walking around in the woods in North America. National Geographic says there have been many sightings of the creature, but no one has been able to get a clear picture or video of the beast. The only evidence that is somewhat clear is was the video that Roger Patterson took in 1967.
“After Bigfoot tracker Ray Wallace died in a California nursing home last year, his children finally announced that their prank-loving dad had created the modern myth of Bigfoot when he used a pair of carved wooden feet to create a track of giant footprints in a northern California logging camp in 1958.” (National Geographic) Does that mean Bigfoot was just made up by a guy trying to scare people?
Bigfoot isn’t real, he never was. Many people have different opinions on this, no one will ever be on the same side.. Overall, there is just not enough evidence to prove that Bigfoot is real.
