The teacher highlighted this month is Ms. Heather Lewis. She is the FCCLA sponsor at Southeast, and she teaches life dimensions, leadership, and food classes. Ms. Lewis grew up in Eureka, Kansas, and attended Coffeyville Community College and Kansas State University.
One question that Mrs. Lewis was asked was what she would be if she weren’t a teacher. She replied that she’d either be a realtor or a designer. When it comes to why she chose to teach at Southeast, she said, “I love the size, and it’s a great school district.” Now that we know why she chose to teach at Southeast, let’s answer her favorite part about teaching. Mrs. Lewis’ favorite part about being a teacher is teaching leadership skills to students and being an FCCLA advisor. The final question Mrs. Lewis was asked was what she is passionate about outside of school. She answered, “If I’m not at a rodeo, I watch football, wrestling, or baseball. I love to travel, whether hiking in the mountains or relaxing at the beach.”
In conclusion, even though this is Ms. Lewis’ first year teaching at Southeast, she is an amazing teacher and she puts a lot of hard work into what she does.
