We in the publications class reached out to the students and asked questions about the 2023-2024 school year.. Students were asked the following questions: What is a funny memory that you will take away from this year? What has been your favorite class this year? What was your favorite school-related event of this year? What was your favorite class project from the 2023-2024 school year? What was the best lunch of the year?.
When asked to share a funny memory that they will take away from this year? One individual recalled a memory from weights: “I was doing box jumps and missed the box in PE. Another student states that their favorite memory of the year was when we played musical savage hunt during Halloween and everyone took my costume parts. Many students also love the stories of Mrs. Ptacek. One student stated, “I will always remember the Communist speech I gave in Public Speaking, Mr. Minneman’s nickname being Mr. Miny Man,and playing games in P.E.
We then asked students to share their favorite class of the year. Answers varied and included: biology, algebra with Mrs. Currie, public speaking, personal finance, and art. Many students also shared their favorite school-related activities:Trap shooting , school dances, musical scavenger hunt for Halloween , prom, football season, and cross country. What was your favorite class project from the 2023 – 2024 school year? Biology Poster, ,the Greek mythology project in freshman English, and the Geometry scale factor. The Greek mythology project is they get a god and they have to do research on them. And present them to Mrs. Rohrer The biology poster is where they take something they have learned and show their teacher how much they know to get graded by Mrs.
Ptacek the geomiest project is an easement where the students are given a grid and a comic and they have to make measurements for them. Then they get to make more of them then more measurements of their new grid then when they’re completely done with their grade then they outline color and put it all together. Students also weighed in on the delicious meals we are served here at Southeast of Saline. When asked to share their opinions on their favorite meals, students reported that the following options were their top choice: pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken tenders (The new version), enchiladas, chile, and hamburgers. We asked our SES students to share whether they would consider the 2023 – 2024 school year to be a positive one? Fifty percent of students answered yes it was a positive school year, 37.5% of the students who responded were on the fence with a “maybe” response, and 12.5% of stated that this was not the most positive school year. These results carried into the next question asking students to share whether they would rather relive the 2023 -2024 school year or keep moving up? Thirty-seven percent of students replied that they would like to relive the school year, and 62.5% shared that they were ready to move on to the next chapter.
