Homecoming 2023 approached us quickly this year on September 16th. This year’s dance theme was Under the Sea and Hawaiian. The countless weeks of planning made up for lots of fun memories.
As they entered the dance, they were all provided with a lei to get the party started. When someone walked into the upper gym, where the dance was held, they were greeted with strung-up lights and beach balls across the ceiling. Blown-up palm trees and sea animals added to this, being placed all across the entrance and around the gym. The most popular thing of the night was the fun snack shack with all the different types of cookies, provided for by the Junior class.
When looking back at all the photos, one thing they will never forget is how hot it was in the upper gym. Later, many realized that the food stand ran out of water because everyone needed to be cooled down from all the dancing. There was so much dancing that if someone stood for a minute or two the ground felt like it was shaking!
One thing this year that surprised everyone was how the Freshman turned up. They surprised everyone by singing and jumping to every song. Usually, the freshmen are shy at the first dance, but this class was not that.
Many different song genres were played, and some were liked more than others. The most popular songs were anything Taylor Swift, Soldier Boy, Line Dances, and Right Foot Creep. Mr. Anderson partook in the festivities of Right Foot Creep “The Griddy” by getting in the circle and doing the griddy.
At this year’s Homecoming dance, there were many different dress styles. The most popular dress colors were blue, black, and pink. Texture was another popular thing this year for example fringe and sequins.
Overall, Homecoming was a blast, and lots of memories were made. They captured lots of photos from the dance to be able to look back on in the future.
