Trojans Enter the Sterling Tournament

Kayson Lilley and Drake Augustine

The Trojans start the winter season off with Trojans basketball; girls and boys. The boys and girls both played 6 games before Christmas Break, including the following opponents: Hesston, Smoky Valley, Beloit, Abilene, Hillsboro, and Sacred Heart. The boys entered the break with a record of 4-2, while the girls entered 5-1. The girls and boys teams both hope to make a push for the top seed in their upcoming tournament: the Sterling Invitational.

The Sterling Invitational is an 8-team bracket-style tournament in which each team plays 3 games. It starts out with a game based on the team’s record coming in. The winner goes to the top portion and the loser goes to the bottom portion of the bracket. Teams in the tournament include Southeast of Saline, Lyons, Kingman, Smoky Valley, Scott City, Hugoton, Sterling, and Hutch Trinity Academy.
