At the start of the 2022 season, the girl’s cross-country team was looking to defend their league title, regional title, and most importantly their state title. The Trojans took first place at the Abilene Invitational, Southeast of Saline Invitational, Halstead Invitational, Riley County Invitational, Lakeside Invitational, KSHSAA 3A Regionals at Council Grove, and KSHSAA 3A State at Rim Rock. Taking only two 2nd place finishes at the Wamego Invitational and the Buhler Invitational. The girls took 1st at Regionals with a score of 38 over Osage City, who finished with a score of 88. At the state meet, there were great competitors, but the Trojans still won State with 64 points over Cheney who took second place with 108 points. All of the lady Trojans finished in the top 75. With Abby Commerford in 5th, Ashley Prochazka in 7th, Breckyn Alderson in 10th, Cali Augustine in 33rd, Brooklyn Adams in 52nd, Savannah Sutton in 60th, and Brenna Felzien in 71st. The alternates for Regionals and State were Carly Commerford, Sadie Franklin, and Charlotte Knopf.
