Valentine’s Day at SES

Emma Lippold and Katie Meares

Valentine’s day decorations and gifts have been on the shelves of stores since December 26th. Red, pink, white, and hearts are everywhere. Southeast of Saline is no different. We have Sadie’s dance hosted by FCCLA on February 11, a fundraiser by FCCLA till the 14th, and a fundraiser by the Brew on the 14th.

Girls, have you asked your date for the dance yet? Sadie’s is being hosted on February 11th from 8-10 pm. FCCLA members and the Leadership class have been planning the dance, making decorations, and getting excited to see everyone dressed up in the Elementary gym. Although tickets are $10 at the door & $8 if you pre-pay the week before, that ticket will get you into the dance and a pair of “funky” socks of your choice. Over half of the proceeds will be going to the We Help Two Foundation – a foundation that raises money through sock sales to go towards funding the installation of a clean water well in Africa.

FCCLA is also fundraising for the club with the Orange Crush, “Get a Crush For Your Crush” sales. Buy this treat for your friends, siblings, or anyone you like. You can order a $2.50 Crush by emailing [email protected]. Send her who you want one sent to, their grade, their teacher, and what you want the “from” to say. They are due on February 8th and will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.

Support The Brew as well by buying a doughnut on February 14th! Doughnuts with a chocolate candy heart on top are $1.50 each. The Brew is a great school business run by FBLA, the Entrepreneurship class, and Mrs. Weis. You can support them anytime before school and between 7/8th block and Trojan Time/Advisory.
