Entering the 2022-2023 basketball season, the Lady Trojans were optimistic about the future, but there were a few things that they knew needed to be finetuned since they were entering the season with a different group of girls. The Lady Trojans started out the season being undefeated heading into Christmas break at 6-0. They suffered their first loss coming off of break but bounced back and added a few wins to their record before entering the Sterling Tournament. The girl’s team lost to a ranked Hugoton team in the second round of the tournament but were able to come back the next night and win the 3rd place game. The Trojans were steady all the way throughout their season, even going into the postseason, only suffering one more loss to a league school. The end of the regular season wrapped on a high note with the girls securing the league title for the third year in a row. The Lady Trojans were ready to get to work as they entered the postseason. They started off strong by winning their first two sub-state games. They went on to play in the championship but fell short to the Phillipsburg Panthers. The Lady Trojans finished 19-4 on the season. For a season that started with a power outage and ended with a loss to the #2 ranked team in 3A, the Lady Trojans should be very proud of the work they put in to make this season one for the books.
