Trojans Crowned Champions of the Inaugural South Central Kansas Shootout

The Southeast of Saline Trojans baseball team opened their season with the Inaugural South Central Kansas Shootout. The Trojans made the trip to Kingman to play in the Inaugural South Central Kansas Shootout that consisted of Kingman, Sedgwick, Wichita Independent, and the Trojans. 

 

The Trojans opened up the tournament with a matchup against Wichita Independent where the Trojans started things out with a bang. The southeast squad scored 20 runs in just 2 innings to  run rule Wichita Independent. Grady Gebhardt led the Trojans with five RBI’s  in , four of which coming off a first inning inside the park home run . The bats were hot for the Trojans as Landen Allen ,Greyson Pebmleton , and Luke Gebhardt all had multiple hits. 

 

On the other side of the ball , Senior Trevor Keller threw a perfect game racking up 8 strikeouts on 9 batters faced. 

 

After a game one victory the Trojans made their way to the championship to play Sedgwick. Once again, the Trojans pounded early, recording 13 runs to once again rule their opponent . Grady Gebhardt had another monster game with four RBI’s on two hits. 

 

The two pitcher duo of Landen Allen and Jake Gebhardt made it easy for the Trojan offense as they combined for a five strikeout shutout on only four hits.

 

The Trojans defeated their opponents 33-0 to be crowned as the champions of the Inaugural South Central Kansas Shootout.
