On May 10, the SES community, still isolated by Coronavirus constraints, was encouraged by Leslie Manning, Spotlight editor and publisher and SES dance team sponsor, to participate in a parade to celebrate the class of 2020 seniors.

The parade progressed through Assaria and Gypsum where many families, teachers, and other students stood with signs, sounded sirens, and flashed smiles in honor of the Southeast seniors.

“The parade was really fun, and I’m glad that the SES community came out to support all of the seniors,” senior Maliyah Commerford said.

While the class of 2020 was not able to have their traditional last quarter of high school, they have been trying to remain joyful throughout what would have been their graduation week.

“I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. I really loved it and I really appreciated our communities coming out to support us like that,” Braedon McVay said.
